I’ve generally had good experiences at Pep Boys, but this sign threw me for a loop this afternoon. For only $9.99 you can get your car battery inspected. Yup, for ten bucks the folks will be nice enough to
a) check the charge
b) clean the terminals
c) replace the washers and
d) give you a new plastic battery tray
I’m surprised they don’t offer glove compartment inspections or muffler shines.
As domainers know, there is only so much land to go around. The supply of land in the world is finite - new land can’t be created with the addition of a 3 letter suffix like it can in the virtual world. And in the real world, once land has been developed - it is almost impossible for it to become wild again. My holiday donation this year is to the Nature Conservancy, an organization that works with both public and private groups to acquire and protect land.
For domainers, this is a great charity that holds natural parallels. If you haven’t made a holiday donation, or if you can afford to make a new one - please consider donating through the badge below. It would be great if we - as individuals in an industry that doesn’t always have the best reputation - could raise a significant amount of money for charity. If you’ve had a good year, please consider a donation. Even donations of $20 add up quickly.
Bloggers / Site Owners - please feel free to add this badge to your own blog, or use the link in the badge. We’ll consider it the “badge of domainers”. And if you have a favorite charity of your own, feel free to create a badge networkforgood.org and post it up (wouldn’t it be cool if every blog had a badge, and everyone in the industry was giving?). Or what if someone could start a Domainers v.s. SEO’s charity contest….lots of ways to run with something like this…
Some day this will be a blog about Internet marketing, domain names, SEO as well as any random business, sports or entertainment info that interests me…hopefully I’ll get it up and running in early 2008….
In the meantime, here are some of the sites I read regularly, in no particular order:
